The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the Class 12 Board results for 2026, with the overall pass percentage recorded at 85.20%. Girls have outperformed boys once again, continuing a trend that has been observed consistently over the past several years.
Students from Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams have shown strong results. Top-performing CBSE zones include Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, and Bengaluru, which have historically maintained excellent pass rates across all three streams.
Students who were unable to clear one or more subjects can avail themselves of the CBSE Compartment Examination, which is typically held two to three months after the main results. This examination allows students to appear in up to two subjects and prevents them from losing an entire academic year. Applications must be submitted within the dates announced by CBSE.
For students unsatisfied with their scores, re-checking and revaluation options are available. Re-checking involves a verification of marking accuracy, while revaluation means a complete fresh evaluation of answer sheets. Both carry separate application fees and have limited time windows.
After the results, students planning for professional careers should act quickly. Whether aiming for IIT through JEE Advanced, medical college through NEET, government banking jobs through SBI PO or IBPS PO, or the Indian Civil Services through UPSC — early and focused preparation is crucial.
